Embedded Technologies Expo & Conference 2019

Tuesday, June 25, 2019, GMT-0700 - Thursday, June 27, 2019, GMT-0700

Embedded Technologies Expo & Conference (ETC) focuses on the education and training of designers and implementers. Attendees will acquire information in embedded systems, IoT, connectivity, edge computing, AI, machine learning, and more. Co-located with Sensors Expo & Conference, attendees will have the opportunity to see hundreds of leading exhibitors and network with thousands of industry peers and innovators.

TCG member companies will conduct booth demonstrations utilizing our technology in the TCG booth #1832.

Demonstrations
Infineon – Industrial IoT Security with Trusted Computing

Industrial systems are increasingly networked and thus exposed to security risks. In this demo, we see how trusted computing can be used to boost protection against a variety of typical attacks: physical and logical, active and passive, hardware and software, etc. Trusted computing integrating easily with common industrial software and protocols. And thus, the reliability and safety of industrial systems can be protected.

Wibu- Systems USA – Using Trusted Platform Modules to Securely Bind CodeMeter Software Licenses to a Specific System

The demonstration shows how a Trusted Platform Module on Windows can be used in place of traditional machine binding information (MAC address, BIOS and other hardware specific serial numbers etc.) to bind a CodeMeter license container to a specific machine. This TPM binding schema increases security as well as reliability. On one hand, it is much more difficult for a hacker to simulate a TPM binding (vs. faking a MAC address for example) while on the other hand, making hardware changes, like replacing the network card owning the MAC address, will no longer break the software license.

TCG will also host a full-day training workshop on IoT, Embedded and Security on June 26, 2019 in room 231B.

Let’s Build In Security: A Workshop to Secure Embedded and IoT Systems

Securing embedded and IoT systems had become increasingly critical. Yet, security often remains a post-design afterthought or someone else’s problem. In a workshop hosted by the industry standards organization Trusted Computing Group, embedded and IOT security experts will address specific ways to design effective security in early, when it can ensure the safety and security of not only the system but related data and networks. Learn key concepts of the root of trust (RoT) and how a new lightweight RoT can be used for specific IoT security. Hear about APIs targeted to embedded development. And get a look at new work to secure platforms for cyber resiliency, which will be critical to maintaining uptime for systems in manufacturing, critical infrastructure, financial services and other sectors. Session will include demos and networking time with industry experts from Infineon, Microsoft, and others.
